Contracts worth 700m Afghanis signed for water supply projects in 4 provinces

Contracts were signed for the implementation of projects for the construction of water supply networks in four provinces of the country, the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing (MUDH) said.

According to a statement released by MUDH, the contracts were signed between the Water Supply and Canalization Enterprise and Rasekh and Sefat contracting firms, in the presence of the Urban Development and Housing Minister Syed Sadat Mnister Naderi.

Speaking during the ceremony for the signing of the agreements, Minister Naderi said the residents of certain provinces are facing issues with the supply of drinking.

He pointed towards his recent visits to the provinces and said the issues of drinking water supply remain a top priority and issue for the residents of certain provinces along with several issues they face in terms of urban development.

However, Minister Naderi said the government has stepped up efforts to resolve the issues and four contracts are being signed today to resolve the issues of drinking water supply in four provinces.

He said the projects will be implemented in four provinces of the country, including Kabul, Faryab, Loar, and Paktia provinces.

in the meantime, the head of Water Supply and Canalization Enterprise Hamidullah Yalani said the projects will be implemented over a period of 12 to 20 months.

He said around 20 thousand families will benefit in the four provinces once the projects have been fully implemented.
