A patriot Afghan national who lives in a foreign country but still holds love for his country has spent $125,000 of his ‘hardly-earned’ money to build a library and conference hall for students of Medical Faculty in Nangarhar University.
Professor Sharifullah while inaugurating the two-storey building, being constructed with his funds, urged students to concentrate on their studies.
He urged others to also step forward and play their role in the reconstruction of Afghanistan.
Mohammad Hanif Gardiwal, Deputy Governor of Nangarhar province who attended the ceremony said equipping and providing modern facilities for educational institutions by ordinary people would improve the education system.
“Even though, Prof. Sharifullah lives abroad but because of the love he has for his country and people he assist the reconstruction of his country,” he said.
Administration of Nangarhar University, provincial administration, members of the provincial council and students of the medical faculty praised Prof. Sharifullah for thinking for his people.
