The National Directorate of Security has set free an abducted child and arrested the ‘ring leader’ of the kidnappers in Maidan Wardak province.
A video released on Wednesday evening by the media office of Maidan Wardak shows a child standing with the governor of this province and three other men in civilian clothes who are believed to be family members of this child.
Hayatullah Hayat, the governor, says that Sohail Jan was kidnapped from Matoun hill of Khost province 52 days before and taken to Ahmad Abad District of neighboring Paktia province.
“Security agencies there conducted operations to recover the child but unfortunately they could not find him,” he said, adding that the child was then moved to Maidan Wardak province by a woman.
Hayat said that NDS rescued the child from the kidnappers in this province.
A man whose face is covered with a scarf is identified as the ring leader of the group that kidnapped the child.
Hayat said in the video that the ring leader is arrested and security agencies are looking for the other members of this ring.
