The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group offshoot, ISIS Khurasan, has claimed responsibility for the suicide attack in Kabul city.
The group issued a statement claiming that the attack near the intelligence compound in Shash Darak area of Kabul city was carried by a ISIS suicide bomber.
The statement further adds that the attack was carried out by a suicide bomber who has been identified as Moshin Al-Khurasani, claiming that several people were killed or wounded in the attack.
However, the Afghan security officials are saying that six people were killed and three others were wounded in the attack.
The ministry of interior spokesman Najib Danish confirmed the casualties toll and said the main target of the attacker has still not been confirmed.
He said the bomber was on foot and detonated his explosives on a roadside, leaving six people dead and three others wounded.
According to Danish, the victims of the incident are all ordinary civilians who were crossing the area when the blast happened.
This is not the first time terror group is claiming responsibility for an attack in Kabul but the group has claimed responsibility for numerous other attacks including coordinated attacks on mosques and gatherings.
The group has been attempting to carry out attacks amid mounting pressures the loyalists of the terror group are facing during the ongoing counter-terrorism operations conducted both the Afghan and US forces based in Afghanistan.
