Government approves new contracts having total value of 22.1 billion Afghanis

The Afghan government has approved ten new contracts having a total value of 22.1 billion Afghanis, the Office of the President, ARG Palace said Monday.

The new contracts were approved during a meeting of the National Procurement Commission chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.

The ARG Palace released the details of some of the contracts approved during the meeting which include the contact for the procurement of 10 lubricant items for the Presidential Security Directorate, contract for the procurement of iron rods for Kabul Municipality, and contract for the training of school teachers and health workers for consultative skills, interpersonal skills, and behavior changes with focus being the proper transition of information regarding routine immunization belonging to the ministry of public health.

The meeting also approved contracts internet bandwidth services for the independent civil aviation authority and contract for the procurement of fuel for administrative office of the President.

Other contracts including 32 food items for the Afghan army institutions were also approved during the meeting, the ARG Palace added.

The latest meeting of the National Procurement Commission was also attended by members of the commission, observers from the local and international institutions including members of the budget and economy commissions of the parliament, SIGAR, Resolute Support Mission representative, members of the anti-corruption and transparency watch network.
