Kochi tribesmen led by lawmaker’ brother halt Turkish firm from mining

Tens of Kochi tribesmen led by Kawmaker Mullah Tarakhel’s brother rallied in capital Kabul and halt the excavation of a mine by a Turkish Company.

Around 200 Kochis led by Haji Musa marched towards the site of natural reservoir in Pul-i-Charki’s Tangi Gharo locality and stopped the Turkish firm from work.

But Musa Tarakhel rejected his involvement in the rally. He told Pajhwok Afgan News the rally was staged by around 4,000 families in the area.

He said the residents of Tangi Gharo locality close the doors of the Turkish company and did not allow them to function.

Mohammad Azim Ahmadi, head of the Turkish company, said two days back armed men arrived in the site of the mine installed a container and appointed three armed men.

He said police had been informed about the incident and assured to remove the container in two or three days.
