Pakistan consulate in Jalalabad to resume issuing visa to Afghans

Pakistan Consulate in Jalalabad city of eastern Nangarhar province will resume issuing visas to Afghans from Tomorrow (Sunday), more than a month after being closed for security concerns, local officials said Saturday.

The provincial government media office in a statement said that the decision came after the consulate reached on an agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Based on the schedule being set by the local governance, the residents of Rodat, Pacheragam, Chaparhar, Khogyani and Sherzad districts who hold national ID cards could receive visas on Sunday.

Coordinated attack ends in Jalalabad city, 10 dead, 42 wounded

The local officials in eastern Nangarhar province confirm that the coordinated attack on Customs Department in Jalalabad city ended with the elimination of the remaining six militants.

Provincial governor’s spokesman Ataullah Khogyani confirmed that the attack ended after five hours of gun battle between the security forces and the assailants.

Khogyani further added that the attack was carried out a by group of eight militants with at least two of them detonating their explosives near the Customs Department at around 12:30 pm local time.

He said the remaining six insurgents intruded inside the Customs Department, sparking clashes that lasted for almost five hours.

Suicide bomber killed by own explosives before reaching to his target

A suicide bomber was killed in an explosion triggered by his own explosives and before reaching to his target in eastern Nangrhar province of Afghanistan.

The provincial government in a statement said the incident took place late on Wednesday evening in the vicinity of Jalalabad city, the provincial capital of Nangarhar.

The statement further added that the suicide bomber’s explosives went off in the 6th police district of the city, leaving himself dead along with another individual.

The suicide bomber was being chased by the security forces to be arrested based on the tip off received by Nangarhar police, the statement said.

Huge blast rocks Jalalabad city of Nangarhar province

A huge blast has just been heard in Jalalabad City of the Eastern Nangarhar province near Sherzai Stadium, where a large gathering was held in support of President Ghani.

As, the powerful blast has been heard near the large gathering during rush hour, the casualties and destructions are expected to be high.

It’s reported that at least 7 people have been killed and 13 others wounded so far.

The city was yesterday also targeted by 3 consecutive blasts in which a National Directorate Security (NDS) local official lost his life along with 2 soldiers and 6 other soldiers sustained serious injuries.
