Explosion foiled in Kabul city

The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have foiled militant’s bid to carry out an explosion in Kabul city, the Kabul Security Commandment said.

According to a statement released by the Security Commandment of Kabul, the Afghan forces discovered and defused an improvised explosive device planted in the 9th police district of the city.

The statement further added that the improvised explosive device was planted close to a police check post in Abdul Haq square.

Police thwart militants bid to detonate a large oil tanker in Kabul

The Afghan National Police (ANP) forces thwarted militants bid to detonate a large oil tanker in Kabul city, the Kabul Security Commandment said.

According to a statement released by Kabul Police Commandment, the police discovered and defused a magnetic bomb planted in an oil tanker in the vicinity of the 9th police district of the city.

The statement further added that the oil tanker was carrying 30 tons of fuel and the militants were looking to detonate it using the magnetic bomb with an aim to inflict massive casualties and losses on ordinary civilians of Kabul.

Afghan intelligence thwart car bombing plot in Jalalabad city

The Afghan intelligence operatives have thwarted a plot by the anti-government armed militant groups to detonate a car bomb in Jalalabad city, the provincial capital of Nangarhar province.

Nangarhar governor’s spokesman Ataullah Khogyani told reporters that the Afghan intelligence operatives discovered and confiscated a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device from Rod district as the militants were looking to use it for an attack in Jalalabad city.

Khogyani further added that the car bomb was seized from Dami Ghondi area and blamed the Haqqani terrorist network for planning the attack.

He said the car bomb was detonated shortly after it was captured and around 250 kgs of explosives, 8 rockets, some hand grenades, and some other explosives were also discovered from the vehicle.

Suicide bomber killed, car bomb destroyed in Helmand province

The Afghan security forces have killed a suicide bomber before he manage to carry out a deadly attack using a car bomb in southern Helmand province of Afghanistan.

The provincial government media office in a statement said a suicide bomber riding a Toyota Town Ace vehicle packed with explosives was identified before he carry out an attack in Marjah district.

The statement further added that the suicide bomber detonated his explosives after he was identified, leaving only himself dead.

The incident took place at around 11:30 am local time on Monday in the vicinity of Terikh Nawar area of Marjah district, the statement added.
