Baghlanis stage protest, reject elderly governor

Hundreds of residents of northern Baghlan province on Monday staged a protest demonstration against the governor, calling him incompetent.

The demonstrators held a protest gathering in Pul-i-Khumri, the provincial capital, saying the current governor was an elderly man and unable to govern or administer the province.

They demanded a young and eligible governor for the province who could address people’s problems.

Ahmad Javed, one of the protestors, slammed the current governor as “inefficient person”, who had not yet served the province and should be replaced with an eligible person.
