Afghan backup forces arrived to Ghazni

More than a thousand of commando forces have arrived to Ghazni province to suppress the Taliban group, security officials said.

The backup forces who were deployed to Ghazni city late on Friday night said they will change the city to a Taliban cemetery and the group has suffered heavy casualties so far.

“We have more than two hundred Tanks and we will change Ghazni to a graveyard for Taliban,” Abdul Razaq Safi, the commander of 203 Thunder Corps said.

The attacks began around 2am with intense gun battles raging and fires burning in several shops in Ghazni city.

Taliban militants hiding inside homes in the city’s residential areas slipped into the streets attacking Afghan security forces.

Afghan Commandos break into another jail of Taliban in Helmand province

The Afghan Commandos have stormed another compound of the Taliban group in Helmand province which was used a detention facility by the group in this province.

The provincial government media office in a statement the Special Forces conducted an operation in Musa Qala district late on Tuesday night and released at least ten people from the prison run by the Taliban.

The statement further added that the operation was conducted by the Commandos of the 7th Kandak and as a result six civilians and four policemen were rescued.

This is not the first time the Afghan forces are conducting special operations against the hideouts of the Taliban militants which are used as prison cells.

Afghan forces rescue 7 civilians from a Taliban prison in Uruzgan province

The Afghan armed forces have rescued at least seven civilians kept prisoners inside a Taliban-run cell in southern Uruzgan province.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the civilians were rescued during an operation conducted in Charchino district.

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Defense, at least eight militants were also killed during the clashes with the Afghan forces.

The statement further added that a vehicle, six motorcycles, 4000 kgs of explosives, munitions, drugs, and weapons were also destroyed during the same operation.

The anti-government armed militant groups including Taliban militants have not commented regarding the report so far.

MoD: Afghan forces step up attacks on Taliban after ceasefire

Afghan forces have expanded their military operations and attacks on Taliban which more than 600 of them were killed or wounded during a week, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said.

“The enemies of Afghanistan had more than 350 people casualties after the ceasefire,” Muhammad Radmanish, spokesman of MoD said.

Radmanish noted the airstrikes on Taliban have also intensified compared to the past.

MoD claims that at least 8 to 12 airstrikes carries out every day which reduces the number of operational areas for the troops.

Ghani: Petty politics does not hold any space within our forces

The Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani says the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces are committed to the national unity, insisting that petty politics does not hold any space within our forces.

President Ghani made the remarks during a visit to a compound of the Afghan Special Operations Forces in capital Kabul on Friday.

He said “We uphold the constitution. As guardian of the constitution ANDSF is committed to the national unity. Petty politics does not hold any space within our forces.”

In other parts of his speech, President Ghani hailed the Ministry of Defense for bringing its strategies and programs in line with the current situation that has resulted into the reduction of the Afghan armed forces casualties.

5 senior Al-Qaeda leaders killed in Afghan forces raid in Nangarhar

At least five senior leaders of the Al-Qaeda terrorist network were killed in an operation of the Afghan security forces in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

The provincial government media office said Friday that the senior leaders of the Al-Qaeda network were killed in an operation conducted by the Special Forces of the Afghan intelligence directorate.

According to an official statement, the five senior Al-Qaeda network leaders, hailing from Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Chechnya, were actively involved in planning and coordinating suicide attacks in the country.

The statement further added that three of those killed hailed from Chechnya, one hailed from Afghanistan, and one of them was a Pakistani national.

Afghan forces foil 3 deadly explosions in Kabul city

The Afghan national defense and security forces have foiled three deadly explosions in Kabul city during separate operations, the officials said Monday.

According to the criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials, the Afghan forces discovered and defused three Improvised Explosive Devices planted in three different locations of the city to kill the innocent civilians.

The officials further added that the IEDs were discovered during the operations conducted in the 4th, 5th, and 9th police districts of the city.

The anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban insurgents have not commented regarding the report so far.
