A suicide bomber has killed at least two people including a senior government official in eastern Jalalabad city of Nangarhar province on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.
The blast has targeted the vehicle which was carrying Abdul Zahir Haqqani, provincial director of Haj and Religious Affairs.
Provincial governor spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani told Ariana News that the incident took place in District one of the City.
He added that the official and his driver were killed in the attack and nine civilians were injured.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, but both the Taliban and the so-called Islamic State (IS) are active in the province, where they usually attack local officials and security forces.
