The Hezb-e-Islami party led by Gulbuddin Hekmatyar has dismissed three top members of the party citing recent political developments.
The party in a statement said Abdul Hadi Arghandiwal, Eng. Mohammad Khan, and Dr. Basir Anwar have been dismissed from the leadership council of Hezb-e-Islami.
The statement further adds that the three senior members have been dismissed considering the recent developments and the involvement of the dismissed leaders in political activities which in contrast to the goals and demands of the party.
The three dismissed senior Hezb-e-Islami members have not commented regarding the decision of the party so far.
All three dismissed individuals were the prominent members of the party who had major roles in the government.
Arghandiwal has served as the minister of economy in the past while Eng. Khan is serving as the deputy chief executive of the government of national unity.
In the meantime, Dr. Anwar is serving as the minister of justice of Afghanistan in the cabinet of the government of national unity.
Hezb-e-Islami has said the dismissed leaders can operate in the framework of another political party and can even form their own party, insisting that Hezb-e-Islami will have no issue in this regard.
