Vice President Dostum takes charge of operations in Kunduz

The First Vice President General Abdul Rashid Dostum has taken charge of the operations in the northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan hours after the Taliban militants launched a coordinated attack on the strategic Kunduz city.

Gen. Dostum organized a meeting in the Command and Control Center of the Ministry of Defense on Monday evening as Taliban intensified attacks on the city, the Office of the First Vice President said in a statement.

The meeting also focused on other provinces under the Taliban threat including the southern Helmand province and Uruzgan province.

Officials in ARG Palace have also confirmed that Gen. Dostum is the Command and Control Center of the Ministry of Defense to coordinate operations with deputy chief of staff of Afghan army General Murad Ali Murad who is Kunduz province.

Dostum criticizes President Ghani following a deadlock in unity govt

Dostum criticize Ashraf GhaniThe First Vice President General Abdul Rashid Dostum harshly criticized President Ghani during a gathering in Kabul following a deadlock in the Government of National Unity by CEO Abdullah’s remarks.

According to a video released online by Enayatullah Babar Farahmand, the Chief of Staff of the Office of the First Vice President, Gen. Dostum is seen as accusing President Ghani of allocating his authorities to himself.

Gen. Dostum further adds that President Ghani is not supporting him and has not trust to his works.

The First Vice President told his supporters that a clear and transparent decision is better than the ongoing game as he informed regarding the formation of a congress within the next 40 days.

Afghanistan likely to receive Russia’s support in fight against terrorism

Afghanistan’s First Vice President Abdul Rashid Dostum in his visit to Russia called on the country’s officials for support in fight against terrorism which was welcomed by a number of Russian officials including the country’s defense minister Sergey Kuzhugetovich Shoygu.

While talking to Radio Azadi by telephone, Dostum’s spokesman Sultan Faizy said that Russia is evaluating the situation in Afghanistan to “see what they can help with.”

“The Russian side is committed to support and help Afghanistan in terms of helping its air and military forces.”

“We’re lacking air support, weapons, ammunition. We need a lot of backing and support to fight against terrorism.” He added.

Dostum Wearing Military Uniform, Fighting Rebels in Faryab

MAIMANA – The first vice-president Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum on Monday after wearing military uniform had been fighting rebels in northwestern Faryab province and leading the first military operation against insurgents.

Last week, Dostum during his trip to Faryab had said that he did not go there to create militia groups but he was guiding Afghan forces and local people against insurgents.

“I am in civil clothes with you. If Taliban do not stop fighting I would destroy them in civilian clothes,” Dostum had said. But today, he was in front of his forces in a military uniform.
