Afghan military prevent clashes among Jamiat and Junbish parties in Faryab

The Afghan Military in the North with the support of the local tribal and political elders intervened to prevent clashes between Jamiat-e-Islami and Junbish Milli parties in northern Faryab province.

The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North said the commander of the Shaheen Corps Gen. Mubin and the local tribal and politcal elder as well as the local Ulemas intervened to prevent clashes between the supporters of the two parties.

According to reports, the supporters of the two parties were preparing for clashes as a member of Junbish Milli Nizamuddin Qaisari wanted to arrest the Jamiat-e-Islami party member Fatiullah Qaisari.

18 Killed In Kabul City Exlosion

An explosive device, possibly a car bomb, was detonated outside a restaurant near Lab-e-Jar square in Kabul’s PD4 shortly after 1.30pm on Thursday killing at least 18 people.

Security sources said eight policemen along with 10 civilians were killed outside a restaurant in Khair Khana where a number of high-ranking Jamiat-e-Islami officials had gathered.

TOLOnews reporter Massoud Ansar said according to security sources at least 10 others were wounded.

Ambulances immediately converged on the scene and security forces cordoned off the area.
Eyewitnesses said at least three cars were also destroyed in the incident and surrounding buildings sustained some damage.

Hekmatyar reacts at Noor, Dostum, and Mohaqiq’s coalition

The leader of Hezb-e-Islami Gulbuddin in his reaction regarding the formation of the new coalition has said that his party will support any move or step that strengthens the current system.

However, he has warned that his party together with the support of the people will stand against any such moves and steps to be taken to weaken the government and system.

Hekmatyar made the remarks in a statement released by his party after a new coalition was formed between Jamiat-e-Islami led by Salahuddin Rabbani and Ata Mohammad Noor, Junbish Millie led by First Vice President General Abdul Rashid Dostum and Wahdat Islami led by deputy chief executive Mohammad Mohaqiq.

The statement further added that all political parties and movements should join hands and unite their force to support the government and take the country out of the ongoing crisis.
