ISIS and Taliban suffer casualties in Nangarhar air and ground operations

At least six militants belonging to the Taliban group and ISIS were killed during separate operations conducted in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said Saturday a least three Taliban insurgents were killed during the Afghan army operations in Ghani Khel and Mohmand Dara districts.

A statement by MoD said at least one insurgent was also detained and one of their vehicles, a motorcycle, and some weapons and ammunition were also destroyed.

In another statement, the Ministry of Defense said at least three ISIS militants were killed after their hideout was targeted in an airstrike in Achin district.

ISIS militants blown up by own explosives in East of Afghanistan

At least three militants affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were blown up by own explosives in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

The local security officials said the incident took place late on Sunday in the vicinity of the restive Achin district.

The officials further added that the militants were looking to plant an Improvised Explosive Device in Ghani Khel area when the incident took place, leaving three of them dead.

The anti-government armed militant groups including the ISIS militants have not commented regarding the report so far.

Airstrikes on ISIS training camps, compounds leaves several dead

A series of airstrikes have been carried out on ISIS targets including a training camp of the terror group in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan, leaving several militants dead.

The provincial government media office in a statement said Thursday at least six ISIS militants were killed in an airstrike conducted in Gorgori area of Haka Mina district during the counter-terrorism operations by the ground forces.

Teh statement further added that airstrikes were also carried out on ISIS training camp in Esta Karan and Gorgori areas, leaving ten ISIS militants as they were receiving training.

According to the governor’s office, airstrikes were also carried out on two ISIS compounds in Shabe area of the district, leaving at least five militants dead.

ISIS military commission chief killed in US drone strike in Afghanistan

The military commission chief of the ISIS terrorist group loyalists in Afghanistan has been killed in an airstrike conducted by the US forces in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
The provincial government media office in a statement said at least two foreign ISIS militants were killed in an airstrike conducted in Nazian district late on Friday night.

The statement further added that the airstrike by the unmanned aerial vehicles was carried out in Lal Mandawi area, leaving three Pakistani nationals dead, including the military commission of ISIS group.

According to the Nangarhar government, the slain ISIS leader has been identified as Syd Wali andhe was a resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa of Pakistan.

300 afghan children under IS military training in Northern Afghanistan

The local officials in the northern Jawzjan province have confirmed that 300 Afghan children are under the military training of Islamic State or locally knows as Daesh terror group in the country.

It’s reported that over 80 percent of Darzab district in Jawzjan province is under the control of Daesh and the terror group is increasingly recruiting across the province.

Clashes between Taliban, IS displace thousands of families in Nangarhar

At least 10 thousand families have been displaced as result of recent clashes between the Taliban and Islamic State or Daesh in Khogyani district of eastern Nangarhar province, officials said Monday.

Javid Ahmad, an official of the provincial immigration department confirmed the incident and said that five to eight thousand of these displaced families are in need of urgent assistance.

“We have escaped [from there] in search of life, what we could have done [better]?” a displaced family member said. “We have escaped in night with children who are sick now, we don’t have something to eat.”

U.S Drops Largest Non-Nuclear Bomb In Nangarhar

The U.S on Thursday dropped the largest non-nuclear bomb ever used in combat on a suspected Daesh installation, which included a series of caves, in Achin District in Nangarhar.

The U.S department of defense said this is the first time this bomb has been used in combat and that the plan had been in the works for months.

There were no immediate reports of civilian casualties.

A U.S MC-130 dropped a GBU-43 with 11 tons of TNT on a series of caves at 7pm Thursday night, the DOD said.

ISIS claim responsibility behind Jalalabad city suicide attack

The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group loyalists claimed responsibility for the suicide attack on local tribal elders in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.

The group issued a statement in Arabic language claiming that the attack left at least 15 people dead and several others wounded.

The statement further added that the attack was carried out by the group’s fighter Salman Al-Khurasani, targeting the Pacher Agam district elders in south of Jalalabad city.

However, the local security officials said at least 4 people, all civilians, were killed in the attack and at least 6 others were wounded.

The attack in Khalis Family area of Jalalabad city on Monday afternoon came as the local tribal elders had gathered to discuss the situation of the province.

Afghans Celebrate Eid Around The Country

Afghans, like millions of Muslims around the world, on Monday started the three day Eid-ul-Adha celebrations.

Early Monday morning, Afghans flocked to the central mosques where they prayed for the security and prosperity of the war-torn country.

Religious scholars in their Eid messages urged the country’s political elite and ordinary people to work together to strengthen efforts for longstanding peace and security.

Afghan president Ashraf Ghani in his Eid speech expressed hope that the country will reach peace in the near future.

He said that a final peace agreement with Hizb-e-Islami, a powerful militant group, will be sealed soon.
