6 killed, 6 wounded in Kabul explosion

An explosion took place in the vicinity of Paghman district of Kabul earlier today, leaving at least 12 dead or wounded.

The security officials confirm that an explosion has taken place in the vicinity of Bala Chinar area of Paghman district.

The Ministry of Interior spokesman Najib Danish says at least four security personnel have lost their lives in the explosion.

Deputy interior ministry spokesman Nusrat Rahimi, had earlier said a convoy of the security forces have been targeted in the blast.

10 killed, 29 wounded in Kabul suicide attack

A heavy explosion rocked Kabul city this evening as reports indicate that the blast has taken place in Kabul Customs House road.

At least ten people were killed and at least 29 others were wounded in a suicide attack in capital Kabul late on Wednesday night.

The Ministry of Interior spokesman Najib Danish confirmed that a private military firm was attacked in East of Kabul city, leaving at least 10 dead and 29 more wounded.

Explosion foiled in Kabul city

The Afghan National Defense and Security Forces have foiled militant’s bid to carry out an explosion in Kabul city, the Kabul Security Commandment said.

According to a statement released by the Security Commandment of Kabul, the Afghan forces discovered and defused an improvised explosive device planted in the 9th police district of the city.

The statement further added that the improvised explosive device was planted close to a police check post in Abdul Haq square.

Explosion targets religious gathering in Kabul, leaving dozens killed

An explosion took place on Tuesday at a wedding hall in Kabul, leaving dozens killed and wounded.

Mohammad Ismail Kawoosi, Spokesman of the Public Health Ministry, said that at least 45 people were killed and 85 more were wounded in the explosion which happened inside Uranus Wedding Hall in the city.

The Interior Ministry Spokesman Najib Danish confirmed the incident and said that the blast was carried out by a suicide bomber who detonated his explosives inside the wedding hall where Islamic religious scholars had gathered to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Mohammad.

Ariana News reporter Bais Bayat who was at the site of the explosion said that most of the victims were religious scholars.

At least 11 killed, 18 wounded in blast at election rally in Takhar

At least 11 people were killed and 18 wounded when a motorcycle bomb blast hit an election campaign rally in northern Takhar province on Saturday, local officials said.

The explosion targeted candidate Nazifa Yousufi Beg’s rally in Rustaq district of the province, the Provincial Police Chief Nizamuddin Ghori

The official added that the candidate sustained no harms, following the incident.

Following the incident, the U.S. Ambassador in Kabul, John Bass “strongly” condemned the attack, saying if the Taliban is “serious” about pursuing peace, it should condemn the attack and punish those who are responsible.

“I strongly condemn outrageous bombing of Takhar election rally. Taliban said they would not target civilians. Afghanistan elections & campaigns are inherently civilian. If Taliban is serious about pursuing peace, it will condemn today’s attack and punish those responsible,” Bass tweeted.

Taliban militants, civilians suffer heavy casualties in a premature car bomb explosion

At least nineteen, people including Taliban militants and ordinary civilians, were killed or wounded in a premature car bomb explosion in northern Faryab province of Afghanistan.

The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North in a statement said the incident has taken place in the vicinity of Khwaja Namosi Bazar, leaving at least ten militants and five civilians dead.

The statement further added that the Taliban militants were looking to detonate the car bomb in Maimana city to target security forces or the electoral campaigns.

Taliban rejects bombing that left 160 dead, wounded in Nangarhar

The Taliban militants group in Afghanistan rejected the group’s involvement in today’s deadly attack in eastern Nangarhar province that left at least 160 dead or wounded.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid in a statement said the Taliban group has no role in today’s attack in Nangarhar province.

Mujahid went on to claim that the group never attacks the civilian targets and strongly condemns attacks on ordinary civilians.

No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility behind today’s attack in Nangarhar province.

Death toll in Kabul suicide attack climbs to 48

The death toll from today’s deadly suicide attack has climbed to at least 48 people, the Ministry of Public Health officials said.

The officials further added at least 67 people who have sustained injuries in the attack, have also been shifted to the hospitals for the treatment.

The incident took place this evening in the West of Kabul city in Dasht Barchi area after a suicide bomber targeted an education center.

The Ministry of Interior spokesman Najib Danish had earlier confirmed that an education center has been targeted in West of the city but did not elaborate further.

Suicide car bombing hits intelligence convoy in Kabul

At least four people were killed and five others wounded after a suicide attacker targeted a convoy of the National Directorate of Security (NDS) in Kabul city early Thursday morning, police confirmed.

The attack took place at about 5am local time in Bagh-e-Daoud area in PD5 of Kabul city, a spokesman for Kabul police chief Hashmat Stanekzai said.

An official in the Health Ministry says several wounded people have been taken to Kabul hospitals for treatment.

Ghani promises thorough investigation into the deadly attack on Afghan Sikhs

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has promised a thorough investigation into the deadly attack on Afghan Sikhs in Jalalabad city of Afghanistan.

The Office of the President, ARG Palace, said President Ghani on Wednesday visited the Gurdwara in Karte Parwan area of Kabul city to offer condolences regarding the loss of lives in the attack.

Surpal Singh thanked President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani on behalf of the Sikh community of the country for offering condolences.

In his turn, President Ghani called the attack a catastrophe and promised that the incident would be thoroughly investigated and the perpetrators would face trial for the crime.
