Suicide bomber attacks MP’s house in Jalalabad

A suicide bomber who wanted to storm the residence of a Nangarhar lawmaker was gunned down by police force members before reaching his target.

The incident happened at around 6:50am Kabul time in Jalalabad City near the residence of Fraidoon Mohmand, an MP from Nangarhar, the provincial police chief Ghulam Sanaee Stanikzai said.

The lawmaker was not at his home when the attack happened, provincial governor spokesman Attaullah Khogyani said.

He added that some students lived in the house.

Head of a voter registration center among 2 killed in Baghlan explosion

At least two people including the head of a voter registration center was killed in an explosion in an explosion in northern Baghlan province of Afghanistan.

According to the local officials, the incident took at around 11 am today in the outskirts of Puli Khumri city.

A Spokesman for the provincial security commandment Zabiullah Shuja confirmed the incident and said at least two people were killed and two others were wounded in the explosion.

Shuja further added that the head of the voter registratio center was among those killed.

Death toll rises in Kandahar city car bomb explosion

The local officials in southern Kandahar province are saying that the casualties toll have climbed in the deadly car bomb explosion in Kandahar city.

Provincial governor’s spokesman Mohammad Daud Ahmadi confirmed that at least 16 people have been killed in the explosion and there are fears that the death toll will further climb.

He said at least 38 people have also sustained injuries in the attack but did not elaborate further regarding their health condition.

Ahmadi further added that the incident took place at around 1:30 pm local time after a vehicle packed with explosives went off in a market.

The Afghan spin sensation Rashid Khan and the International Cricket Council (ICC) reacted at the deadly bombing targeting a cricket stadium in Jalalabad city, the provincial capital of Nangarhar province.

Khan who is playing for the Indian Premier League reacted at the deadly bombing, mourning the death of Hedayatullah Zahir, one of the key organizers of the cricket tournament in Nangarhar.

“You will be missed bro #RIP you did lots of hard work always tried to make Nengrahar shining City.” Rashid Khan said in a Twitter.

Taliban attack on voters’ registration center in Badghis kills 8 soldiers

At least 8 Afghan National Army soldiers were killed and 3 others were wounded following a Taliban attack on a voter registration center in Badghis province, officials confirmed.

An Afghan national army soldier is also reported to be missing after the attack.

“Last night, the attack took place on a voter registration center in the Laman area in Qala-e-Naw, the center of Badghis province,” Abdul Aziz Big, the head of provincial council said.

He added the voter registration center was destroyed.

Govt confirms 60 people killed In Sunday’s explosion

The ministry said on Tuesday that nine children had been killed and another 18 wounded in the suicide bombing.

The ministry of public health on Tuesday issued an update on the casualty toll from Sunday’s suicide bombing in Kabul and said 60 people had been killed in the attack.
In addition, the ministry said 129 people had been wounded.

According to the ministry, nine children were among those killed and another 18 children were wounded.

Sunday’s suicide bombing targeted a population registration center in Dasht-e-Barchi in Kabul city, where dozens of people had gathered to apply for their ID documents in order to register to vote.

The suicide bomber reportedly detonated his explosives among the crowd outside the offices.

Daesh claimed responsibility for the incident.

Since April 14, the start of the voter registration process, five attacks have been carried out on election-related facilities across the country.

Suicide bomber kills director of Hajj, Religious Affairs in Nangarhar

A suicide bomber has killed at least two people including a senior government official in eastern Jalalabad city of Nangarhar province on Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

The blast has targeted the vehicle which was carrying Abdul Zahir Haqqani, provincial director of Haj and Religious Affairs.

Provincial governor spokesman, Attaullah Khogyani told Ariana News that the incident took place in District one of the City.

Death toll in Kabul car bombing rises to 95

An ambulance packed with explosives blew up in a crowded area of Kabul City on Saturday, killing 95 people and wounding 158 others, officials said.

The explosion took place at around 01:00 pm when an ambulance was detonated between two checkpoints outside the old Interior Ministry building close to Sedarat Square in the capital Kabul.

Ismayel Kawosi, the Public Health Ministry Spokesman confirmed the casualty toll and said that the wounded people have been transferred to different hospitals in the city.

Most of the victims of the attack are civilians, the Interior Ministry Deputy Spokesman said, adding that four people have been arrested in connection to the incident.

Afghan forces foil 3 deadly explosions in Kabul city

The Afghan national defense and security forces have foiled three deadly explosions in Kabul city during separate operations, the officials said Monday.

According to the criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials, the Afghan forces discovered and defused three Improvised Explosive Devices planted in three different locations of the city to kill the innocent civilians.

The officials further added that the IEDs were discovered during the operations conducted in the 4th, 5th, and 9th police districts of the city.

The anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban insurgents have not commented regarding the report so far.

13 dead, 18 wounded in Kabul suicide attack

The security officials in Kabul put the casualties toll in Kabul suicide attack at 13 dead and 18 wounded, including civilians and police personnel.

The deputy spokesperson for the ministry of interior Nasrat Rahimi told reporters in Kabul today that 13 policemen lost their lives in the attack.

He said at least 16 policemen and 2 civilians were also wounded after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives among the police personnel and civilians.

The head of the Criminal Investigation Department Salim Ehsas said the security forces have closed 24 shops selling drugs in the area.
